Single peptides
Epithalon was developed in the former Soviet Union during the 1980s by Professor Vladimir Khavinson, whose laboratory was investigating the biochemistry of the pineal gland. Khavinson's group was characterizing how pineal-derived peptide fractions changed across different research models. From pineal gland extracts, Khavinson's team isolated a peptide fraction named epithalamin. To produce a defined, reproducible research compound, the group synthesized a simpler four-amino-acid sequence (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) and designated it Epithalon. The peptide has since been examined in preclinical and in vitro publications exploring telomerase enzyme activity and chromosomal telomere measurements. This product is intended for research use only.
